2AM Thought
Myself Anushka
Got a random thought one night when i wasn't asleep, staring at the ceiling when my conscious mind thought of this question. Why do we offer plucked, fresh and healthy flowers to god and not those fresh and healthy flowers which fell on ground just a few seconds ago, once when fallen on the ground flowers are considered unfit to offer god. It's a kind of spiritual thought I wanted to ask somebody, since my grandparents left me, I don't have enough enlightened folks around me to give me a proper answer about this. I read somewhere, a soul takes 8.4 million births before taking their final birth as a human being. Liberation is only possible through human bodies as they are the smartest one. So, further strengthening my question, I come to another part of this, do we have a right to destroy a life? By plucking a flower from tree and destroying it's life, offering it to god, are we doing the right thing by being a mediator between that soul and god? When I was a child, my baa (grandma) use to take me to a Krishna mandir nearby. We used to offer him flowers, do kirtan, spend some time there and come back home. Sometimes she took freshly fallen flowers on the ground and offer them to god. When they were with me I wasn't that concerned about all this but now, when I lost few of my family members really close to me, they often show up in my mind, my dreams and my thoughts. I remember few moments of us together, just as memorizing this one, my thought process started a hunt for a satisfactory answer to this question. I haven't received any answers until now, even it's a huge confusion about what action to be done when one wants to offer god?
